Necklace - two strands of shells and pearls crocheted (weaved) on silver wire

Supples:  a spool (for each strand you need approximately length of the strand x 3) of 32 gouge sterling silver wire, 4" of 20 or 22 gouge silver wire, freshwater pearls, mother-of-pearl beads, 2 cone ends, 2 split rings and a toggle clasp.

Tools: pliers, cutters, crochet.

For weaving two strands you will need a spool of 32 gouge sterling silver wire, 4" of 20 or 22 gouge silver wire, freshwater pearls, mother-of-pearl beads and 5.5 mm metal crochet.

Do not cut silver wire from the spool, just strand beads on wire in desired pattern.

At the end of the wire form a loop by twisting the end of the wire several times around itself.

Put crochet hook through the loop,  tighten if necessary. Wrap the end of the wire with beads over the hook as shown on the picture.

Catch the wrapped loop in the hook, and pull it through the fist loop you created. To form next link of the chain again wrap the end of the wire with beads over the hook and pool the wire through the loop on the crochet.

To add beads you are following previous step with one difference - slide the bed on the wire toward the crochet before wrapping the wire around it; don't forget to leave more space (make loop bigger) if the bead is bigger than others.

Catch the wrapped loop in the hook, and pull it through the fist loop you created.Again catch the wrapped loop in the hook, and pull it through the fist loop you created.

After you weaved all beads cut the wire leaving a couple inches ends. Pull the end of the wire trough the last loop.  Repeating previous steps, crochet second strand of the necklace. To make loops more even you may try to pull strands slightly  holding them for the last couple loops.

To make last loops stronger pull the end of the wire through the two last loops a couple of times.

Take both strands of the necklace and twist free ends of the wire together.  Run 20 or 22 gouge wire through reinforced loops created in previous step.

Twist 20 gouge wire around itself and the ends of 32 gouge wire, cut leftover ends.

You will need 2 cone ends, 2 split rings and toggle clasp for finishing the project.

Put the end cone and split ring on the 20 g wire attached to the end of necklace.

Wrap a couple times the wire around itself between split ring and the cone, cut wire closely. Use pliers to bend the cut end of the wire. Repeat the steps for the other end of the necklace. Attach toggle clasp to the split rings. You're done !
